  1. The updated files include a new V.EXE player, Install, and sound drivers
  2. for use with The Seventh Guest. 
  3.  
  4. This new version should overcome the following problems:
  5.  
  6.  o VESA-in-rom problem. If your particular video card contains its VESA
  7.    driver within the video bios rom of the card, the new version of V.EXE
  8.    should detect an externally loaded VESA driver. This has been tested 
  9.    successfully on a number of Cirrus Logic video cards as well as the
  10.    Diamond Viper (running the latest VESA driver available from Diamond
  11.    Computer Systems).

  13.  o S3-type video card support. The S3-type cards are now supported in
  14.    MCGA mode. SVGA mode is just too slow.
  15.  
  16.  o Error 20/02 Sound Buffer Failure. This new version should eliminate 
  17.    sound buffer problems for Sound Blaster compatible sound cards. If
  18.    the Sound Blaster drivers are chosen for Speech, these errors should
  19.    no longer be encountered.

  21.  o Tandy MPC IRQ 10 support. The new install should allow IRQ 10 selection
  22.    for TANDY MPC computers which feature this setting.

  25. Other notes:

  27. If the sound cuts out during the game and you are using IRQ 7, you may wish
  28. to change the IRQ setting -- some mother boards generate spurious IRQ 7s.
  29.  
  30. To see if your video board is compatible with The Seventh Guest type "V ?"
  31. from the directory where The Seventh Guest is installed.
